There’s nothing quite like a Starbucks coffee under the shade of a green umbrella – whether it’s overlooking a waterfall in Costa Rica or tucked away in a bronze birdcage on an Italian piazza. Let’s take a spin around the globe to some of the most extraordinary places to relax with friends and enjoy a warm summer breeze.

1. Tagaytay City, Philippines

The Starbucks Reserve™ Hiraya store in Tagaytay City, Philippines takes customers on a stunning visual journey high above the Taal Volcano and the blue waters of Taal Lake.  As the journey unfolds, the space opens into an outdoor viewing terrace with a panoramic view of the breathtaking scenery below.

2. Antigua, Guatemala

The Starbucks store in the old city of Antigua may look unassuming from the street – but the former residence holds hidden treasures – including a charming inner courtyard to unwind after a day of exploring the city’s beautiful ruins and monuments (Antigua is a UNESCO World Heritage Site ). The Starbucks design team restored many of the home’s original architectural features and worked with local artists and designers to showcase Guatemala’s coffee heritage and capture the artistic, warm and colorful spirit of the region.

3. Alajuela, Costa Rica

Dreamt of drinking an Iced Shaken Espresso in a rocking chair with a waterfall view? Then it may be time to book that trip to Costa Rica for a visit to Hacienda Alsacia , Starbucks first and only coffee farm. While there, enjoy a 90-minute tour and get a hands-on look at a working tree nursery, wet mill, drying patio and roaster. Then relax in the open-air café with a cup of Hacienda Alsacia™ coffee in a cozy chair while drinking in the lush landscape of the coffee trees below.

4. Milan, Italy

The Starbucks Reserve® Roastery in Milan offers one of the world’s most unique coffee experiences, where customers can immerse  in the world of coffee, watch Master Roasters roast the small-batch coffees Starbucks Reserve® is known for, and choose some beans from the scoop bar for the trip home. Cap off the visit with a cappuccino at a café table in a bronze bird cage out on the terrace while you soak in the atmosphere of the nearby Piazza Cordusio and the beauty of Italy.

5. Cockburn Town, Turks & Caicos

Feeling pink? Then a spot on the patio outside seaside Cockburn Town store  is the perfect place to unwind. The café on the southern tip of Grand Turk island is the first in Caribbean nation of Turks & Caicos, and features a pale pink exterior and palm trees in keeping with its authentic Caribbean feel.

6. Punta Cana, Dominican Republic

Enjoy a quiet spot in the shade not far from the white sandy beaches of the seaside town of Punta Cana at the Blue Mall Punta Cana store. The location embodies a chic Caribbean style with native materials, including coral stone and a striking thatched roof made from palm leaves that abound in the area.

7. Narmanli Han, Turkey

Enjoy a traditional Turkish coffee or one of Starbucks signature handcrafted beverages next to a bubbling fountain in a historic courtyard at the Tunel Narmanli Han store in the heart of Istanbul.

8. Seattle, Washington

The University Village Main coffeehouse is Starbucks second ever-store (opening in 1972) and its remodeled design honors its long ties to the Seattle community. Enjoy a spot outside on the patio beneath a 40-foot custom etched art piece that celebrates the city’s culture and natural beauty.

9. GL YangShuo Yitian Street Store, Guilin, China

Nighttime brings its own kind of magic on the covered terrace atop the GL YangShuo Yitian Street Store. Grab a spot at the wraparound bar and enjoy the view of the twinkling city lights all around as a cluster of red lanterns gently sway in the breeze.
