Starbucks Hosts ‘At Home With SOFI TUKKER’ for National Coffee Day
Starbucks Coffee at Home is partnering with high-energy music duo and long-time best friends, SOFI TUKKER, to host a celebratory Twitch live DJ streaming set.
Just as every cup of Starbucks coffee fosters a handcrafted moment of human connection, music also plays a pivotal role in bringing people together – both at home and in a coffee house.
That’s why this National Coffee Day (September 29), Starbucks Coffee at Home is partnering with high-energy music duo and long-time best friends, SOFI TUKKER, to host a celebratory Twitch live DJ streaming set from 10am-12pm PT / 1-3pm ET. The special free livestreaming event, “At Home With SOFI TUKKER,” is designed to bring fans together over music and coffee pairings from the comfort of their own homes – a practice Sofi Tukker started for their community during the pandemic. Starbucks will be the first brand to partner with Twitch’s new DJ platform, and the set will be inspired by Starbucks coffee roasts, starting soft and smooth (Starbucks® Blonde Roast), continuing rich and balanced (Starbucks® Medium Roast), and wrapping strong and bold (Starbucks® Dark Roast), to inspire at-home tastings.
The GRAMMY-nominated, genre-defying pair has a positive and uplifting energy that makes every moment feel like a celebration, and their new album BREAD (“Be Really Energetic and Dance”) is symbolic of the act of breaking bread as a point of connection. Made popular by songs by such songs as “Best Friend,” SOFI TUKKER places connection at the center of every performance, creating authentic moments on and off-stage to relate with fans, friends and family.
“The music we make and everything we do is in service of positive energy and connection, just like Starbucks coffee,” said Sophie Hawley-Weld.
“We’re constantly all over the world with very little consistency in our lives, but making a cup of Starbucks coffee is always something I can rely on and gives us some time to slow down and connect,” said Tucker Halpern.
Ahead of the event, Starbucks is offering customers a special National Coffee Day deal on Amazon through 9/29. Coffee-lovers can stock up on their preferred coffees to enjoy at home and during SOFI TUKKER’s live streaming session. As part of the celebratory offer, when customers spend $50 on select coffee blends and at-home favorites, they will get $10 off, while supplies last.
