A coffee run is more than a quick errand, it’s a gesture of care that strengthens bonds among friends, colleagues and loved ones. Beginning Feb. 9, Starbucks is elevating the coffee run and the connections it creates with a new dark roast brewed coffee, 1971 Roast, and new bakery items with globally inspired flavors. Plus, Starbucks Rewards members can get a free tall iced or brewed coffee with their drink order.

1971 Roast

A new bold, dark-roast coffee blend celebrates Starbucks heritage of roasting the highest quality coffees for more than five decades. 1971 Roast is a blend of coffees from Colombia, Sumatra and Brazil, carefully selected by Starbucks master roasters to deliver depth of flavor including notes of toasted sugar and rich walnut. Learn more about the story behind this new blend, joining Starbucks lineup of freshly brewed and whole bean coffees.

To make your coffee run extra special, beginning Feb. 9, size tall, grande and venti hot beverage orders will be served in a special-edition paper cup wrapped in Starbucks iconic green and original logo. Designed to celebrate the company’s heritage in coffee and craft,  it’s available for a limited time throughout February, while supplies last.

Celebrating connection through the universal ritual of a coffee run

As part of its latest brand campaign, Starbucks newest ad, “The Coffee Run,” will debut on Feb. 6.

The film follows a man going on a coffee run during a day-long journey from a Starbucks coffeehouse in Italy to the peak of a ski run, highlighting the feeling of warmth and joy when someone brings you a coffee. It’s a celebration of the dedication, craft, and human connection that goes into every cup, reminding us that a little coffee goes a long way.

Take a look behind the scenes of “The Coffee Run” ad.

Whether sharing a moment with friends, fueling a team on the slopes, or simply brightening someone’s day, a coffee run is a universal ritual that brings people together. With the debut of Starbucks new bakery lineup, the bold 1971 Roast, and a free tall coffee on Feb. 9, there’s never been a better time to make a coffee run.
