Do a happy dance! See the new Starbucks + Peanuts fall collection inspired by the Great Pumpkin and Pumpkin Spice Latte
On Sept. 15, select Starbucks coffeehouses around the world will launch a limited-edition Peanuts + Starbucks® collection, while supplies last.
In the classic Peanuts special “It’s the Great Pumpkin, Charlie Brown,” Linus spends a long Halloween night in a pumpkin patch eagerly awaiting the arrival of the Great Pumpkin. That feeling of anticipation is well-known to the Starbucks fans who count down the days until the return of fall and Pumpkin Spice Latte each year, and the inspiration for a new collaboration.
On Sept. 15, select Starbucks coffeehouses around the world will launch a limited-edition Peanuts™ + Starbucks® collection, while supplies last. The limited-edition collection sold in coffeehouses includes 10 collectible items featuring drinkware, including a Snoopy glass cold cup, accessories, such as a mini tote bag, a bag charm, enamel pins and more, plus a plush toy. Select items from the collection, along with additional exclusive merchandise, will be available to Starbucks Rewards members in the U.S. on Starbucks Shop.
Christine Grennan, who led the collaboration for Starbucks, drew from the enthusiasm of some of the most devoted Peanuts fans. Growing up, her best friend’s mother, Linda, loved Peanuts so much that the family dogs were named Lucy and Charlie. It was a memory that helped shape her approach to the collection.
“I channeled my inner Linda. I wanted to do right by the fans and make sure that it all feels really true to the characters and what they love about Peanuts,” Grennan said.
The appeal of Peanuts spans across generations, and this new collection coincides with the 60th anniversary of “It’s the Great Pumpkin, Charlie Brown,” the iconic 30-minute program (with commercials!), which first aired in October 1966.
“Connection is huge across the Peanuts brand, it just invokes such a sense of nostalgia,” she said. “And I think the same is true with Pumpkin Spice Latte, remembering that first sip of PSL with friends. All of those feelings are very naturally intertwined with Peanuts.”
