Starbucks at New York Fashion Week: A Siren-inspired season of taste previews and couture gown

September 12, 2025
A model sits on brown stone steps, wearing a flowing green dress with an ombre effect. She holds a coffee cup and wears chunky black boots. A decorative iron railing is visible beside her.

The mesmerizing green dress flows, floats and shimmers as if it’s in water, a real-life version of what catching a glimpse, deep in the ocean, of what a mythical Siren might be like. For years, the Starbucks Siren in the company’s logo has mesmerized and inspired. Now, she’s also the inspiration for a custom couture dress by Zac Posen — and a number of special moments — at New York Fashion Week for Spring / Summer 2026, which runs from Sept. 11 to Sept. 16.

Starbucks partnered with American designer Posen and celebrity stylist Erin Walsh to create a custom couture gown inspired by the iconic green Starbucks Siren in its logo. Capturing the Siren’s magnetic energy, the gown blends mythical charm with modern elegance, crafted in the rich, iconic Starbucks green.

“This wasn’t just about creating a beautiful dress — it was about channeling the spirit of the Siren,” said Walsh. “Zac and I wanted to explore how her shape, her movement and her mythology could be reimagined through fashion. The result is a piece that feels like a living embodiment of transformation, power and creative energy.”

The Starbucks Siren , the iconic, twin-tailed mermaid featured on the company’s logo since it was founded in 1971, embodies the mythical allure and irresistible “song” of coffee, linking the brand to its seafaring origins and the global journey of its beans.

The gown, worn by model Sunday Rose, made its red-carpet debut at the Council of Fashon Designers of America dinner on Wednesday night. It’s one of a number of events that Starbucks is participating in during Fashion Week that celebrate tastemakers across fashion, music and art, with the iconic Starbucks Siren as the muse. As a long-time supporter of the arts, Starbucks believes in the power of creativity and storytelling to foster human connection and joy.

Siren’s Call event at Starbucks Reserve Empire State Building

Starbucks kicked off Fashion Week with a bold and immersive celebration at the Starbucks Reserve® Empire State Building. In partnership with HighSnobiety, the Tuesday “Siren’s Call” event brought together culture’s boldest voices — from designers and stylists to artists and musicians.

Three individuals pose together, each holding a cocktail in a dimly lit bar. The person on the left has long black hair and a tattoo on their arm, while the middle person has a bald head and wears multiple gold necklaces. The person on the right sports curly hair and a green denim jacket. The background features shelves lined with various bottles.

A group of five friends is gathered, smiling and raising colorful shot glasses. They are dressed in casual, trendy outfits, with accessories like hats and jewelry. The setting appears lively, suggesting a celebration or party atmosphere.

Guests were treated to a set by DJ Memphy and a high-energy performance by Dorian Electra, all set against a backdrop of Starbucks iconic green and a curated menu of Starbucks Reserve Espresso Martinis and coffee tonics. Guests also got an exclusive taste preview of Starbucks Protein beverages, which launch nationally on Sept. 29. It was a night that captured the Siren’s allure and set the tone for the week ahead.

CFDA dinner: A night of style and connection

Starbucks is proud to be the official coffee partner of the Council of Fashion Designers of America (CFDA) Official NYFW Kick-Off Dinner held on Wednesday evening. This exclusive evening brought together the industry’s most influential voices to celebrate creativity and connection. At the dinner, guests enjoyed Starbucks Reserve Espresso Martinis, Starbucks Reserve Old Fashioned and Starbucks Protein beverages.

Keeping Fashion Week going

Throughout the week, Starbucks is also offering exclusive tastes of the new Protein Cold Foam and Protein Lattes. Starbucks Protein beverages, which launch nationwide on Sept. 29, deliver about 15 to 36 grams of protein per grande — the perfect accessory for long days and late nights.

Two clear menu stands display food and drink offerings, including Starbucks cocktails and appetizers, alongside a cup of cold brew topped with foam.
