Many beverages can be customized to suit individual dietary preferences, so customers can create a hot, cold or blended drink that fits their unique lifestyle.
Here are some recommended ways to customize* beverages at Starbucks:
Select the milk: Choose from whole, 2% milk or nonfat milk, or nondairy milk such as soymilk, coconutmilk, almondmilk and oatmilk, at no extra charge.
Customers can also select Protein-boosted Milk to any beverage where milk is part of the recipe for an additional charge. Crafted daily by Starbucks baristas, Protein-boosted Milk is made from 2% milk and premium whey protein and contains no added sugar. The amount of added protein will vary by beverage; for example, Protein-boosted Milk adds an extra 12–16 grams of protein in a grande hot or iced latte.

Choose the level of sweetness: To adjust the level of sweetness, ask for fewer pumps of syrup or sauce. Starbucks iced coffee, tea, matcha, and chai can all be customized to a customer’s preferred level of sweetness.

Lessen or Skip the whip: For beverages that come with whipped cream, ask a barista for “light whip” or “no whip” for reduced fat.

Select a nondairy or protein cold foam: Or on beverages with cold foam consider swapping the cold foam for a non-dairy cold foam to reduce the fat and sugar content. If you’re looking for a boost of protein, choose a protein cold foam––available in a variety of flavors including sugar-free vanilla and a plain protein cold foam–– to add approximately 15 grams of extra protein in a grande.
Choose the amount of caffeine: Customers can choose from an assortment of decaf coffee and herbal tea options, and now they can also customize the caffeine in their Starbucks Refreshers. Any Refresher can be ordered caffeine-free, or as an Energy Refresher, which adds extra caffeine sourced from nature with a B-vitamin boost.
