Coffee Storytelling

The next semi-final event will focus on coffee storytelling, and the baristas’ ability to articulate Starbucks commitment to the coffee we source, and the communities we serve.  

In this round, baristas will tell the story of a coffee from the region or Starbucks Reserve® Roastery they are representing, which they had personally selected.  

Baristas will be scored by their ability to incorporate a personal story into the chosen coffee tasting, as well as the story behind the coffee. Creativity, presentation skills, connection and more were also taken into account.  

Each barista will randomly select an additional storytelling subject prior to their turn – either Starbucks Farmer Promise, Starbucks commitment to ethical sourcing or coffee quality – to weave into their presentation.
