Enjoy peak summer nostalgia with Orange Cream drinks and new Dandy merch collab
Starbucks is tapping into summertime memories with a new lineup of Orange Cream beverages and a limited-edition merchandise collection from Dandy Worldwide, available in U.S. coffeehouses starting July 28.
The best summer memories are often tied to our senses. The sound of a sprinkler splashing across sunbaked pavement. The sigh of a green patio umbrella and the taste of an icy treat on a warm afternoon. The feeling of open roads and spontaneous detours.
They’re the moments that stay with us long after summer ends.
Beginning July 28, Starbucks is tapping into summer nostalgia with a new lineup of Orange Cream drinks and a limited-edition merchandise collection from Dandy Worldwide, available in U.S. coffeehouses for a limited time.
The Orange Cream Collection
Kris Murray, who worked on the team that created the beverages, said that the memories we associate with certain times of the year are deeply connected to our senses. Just as the aroma of cinnamon and nutmeg of a Pumpkin Spice Latte can evoke crisp fall days or a visit to a pumpkin patch, or the taste of a Peppermint Mocha can remind you of candy canes and holiday gatherings. It’s this link between taste, memory and emotion that Starbucks taps into when creating new beverages like this summer’s new Orange Cream beverages.

“For many people, orange cream is associated with the feeling of summer,” said Murray.
“It can evoke childhood nostalgia and familiar moments like enjoying freezer pops, peeling oranges, or spending time outdoors during the summer moments.”
She said the color carries meaning too, representing brightness, warmth and refreshment.
“Orange is visually vibrant and tied to summer moments,” she said.
The beverage team explored a variety of citrus flavors to land on just the right flavor — from the sour Seville oranges used in marmalade to the berry-like taste of blood oranges. The team landed on a combination of tangerine and mandarin flavors, paired with sweet vanilla notes to bring bright citrus flavors and creamy sweetness to cold brew, espresso, matcha, chai and Frappuccino blended beverages.
“At the end of the day, orange may seem unexpected — especially with coffee — but it works, especially paired with notes of sweet vanilla,” Murray said. “We’re excited to bring the nostalgic orange cream flavor to the Starbucks beverages customers love, such as cold brew, matcha and chai.”

Starbucks x Dandy merchandise collection
Next stop, Dandy + Starbucks
Memories of summer adventures sparked the idea for the new collaboration between Starbucks and Dandy Worldwide, a Southern California-based fashion brand founded by siblings Mia and Kian Schank in 2021. The brand is known for its embroidered hoodies with optimistic, travel-inspired graphics and messages. The collection is the culminating chapter of Starbucks summer road trip story, dropping in select coffeehouses in the United States and Canada on July 28, while supplies last.
For their first collaboration, Starbucks and Dandy are keeping the road trip going with a drive up the West Coast from Dandy’s headquarters in Los Angeles to Starbucks hometown of Seattle, with plenty of coffee stops along the way. They worked together to create a playful collection with retro pinks, oranges and greens.
“In our creative process, we start with an experience or emotion we want to evoke,” said Kian Schank. “With this collection, we wanted not only to capture the nostalgia of a classic road trip, but to create something people could bring along with them for the ride.”
Tina Marie Li, who led the collaboration with Dandy for Starbucks Merchandise Team, said that working with Dandy was a natural fit. “Both brands celebrate adventure and summer memories,” she said.
“Everyone goes on road trips, and that’s where Starbucks comes in. We’ll be a part of your journey — part of the memories.”
What will it be like for Mia and Kian Schank to see Dandy designs in Starbucks coffeehouses?
“I started Dandy at 17, packing orders in my parents’ garage while I was still in high school,” said Mia Schank. “If you had told me then that Dandy would one day collaborate with Starbucks, I never would have believed you. It makes this moment feel especially meaningful.”
