Holiday rituals
Whether you’re sledding, on a walk to take in the twinkling lights, listening to music or spending quality time with family and friends, Starbucks holiday beverages pair perfectly with so many traditions and activities. What do the holidays taste like to you?

I love Iced Sugar Cookie with Sugar Cookie Cold Foam — there’s something about the sprinkles I love, and it’s like, ‘Yes! The holidays are here.’
Teri

Gingerbread Oat Milk Chai always takes me back to family and getting together at the holidays to make and eat traditional food together.
Maria

My favorite holiday tradition is going sledding and then going downtown to look at the gingerbread houses with my mom. And we always get coffee — she likes a decaf Espresso Con Panna and I like to do a Doppio Espresso.
Christopher

This holiday, I’m most looking forward to holding my Gingerbread Chai Latte and walking around our town center supporting our local businesses.
Julie

My family does Christmas crackers every year, with the little prizes. And I like to curl up by a fireplace, read a good book and drink a Chestnut Praline Latte.
Skylar

My favorite holiday tradition is going to the Christmas Market and walking around with peppermint mochas. It’s fun, it’s festive — it’s grown-up hot chocolate!

Holiday traditions begin with coffee
1984
The original holiday coffee
Starbucks launched Christmas Blend, which was hand-scooped and packaged in brown paper coffee bags to be brewed at home.

Holiday Bliss
The Cranberry Bliss Bar® has been a holiday favorite since 1997 with a sweet, tart and creamy combination of cranberries, cream cheese frosting and white chocolate.
2002
Most popular holiday beverage
Peppermint Mocha made its debut 2002 and is the most loved Starbucks holiday beverage, served in more than 80 markets around the world.

A viral sensation
The Starbucks Snowman Cookie went viral in 2024, after social media users began turning it into a creative holiday photo prop.

Eggnog Latte
First introduced in 1986, the Eggnog Latte was Starbucks first-ever handcrafted holiday drink — and it’s coming back later this holiday season!
1997
The year the first Starbucks holiday cup made its debut.

A red cup that wasn’t red?
The first Starbucks holiday cups weren’t red – they featured a set of four jewel-toned designs. The first red cup design was in 1999, and they have been (mostly) red ever since.
2018
Red Cup Day
Since 2018, Starbucks has given away a free reusable holiday cup on Red Cup Day with the purchase of a holiday drink.

This season, sit and stay in your warm, welcoming community coffeehouse.
