My favorite holiday tradition is going sledding and then going downtown to look at the gingerbread houses with my mom. And we always get coffee — she likes a decaf Espresso Con Panna and I like to do a Doppio Espresso.

Holiday traditions begin with coffee

The original holiday coffee

Starbucks launched Christmas Blend, which was hand-scooped and packaged in brown paper coffee bags to be brewed at home.

Most popular holiday beverage

Peppermint Mocha made its debut 2002 and is the most loved Starbucks holiday beverage, served in more than 80 markets around the world.

A viral sensation

The Starbucks Snowman Cookie went viral in 2024, after social media users began turning it into a creative holiday photo prop.

Eggnog Latte

First introduced in 1986, the Eggnog Latte was Starbucks first-ever handcrafted holiday drink — and it’s coming back later this holiday season!

1997

The year the first Starbucks holiday cup made its debut.

A red cup that wasn’t red?

The first Starbucks holiday cups weren’t red – they featured a set of four jewel-toned designs. The first red cup design was in 1999, and they have been (mostly) red ever since.

2018

Red Cup Day

Since 2018, Starbucks has given away a free reusable holiday cup on Red Cup Day with the purchase of a holiday drink.
