All In For Our Home Town
For more than 50 years, we’ve been proud to call Seattle and the Puget Sound home
From one store in Seattle’s Pike Place Market in 1971, to nearly 33,000 stores serving customers globally – for over 50 years, Starbucks has always been about so much more than great coffee. After all, our mission at Starbucks is to “nurture the limitless possibilities of human connection.”
We have a responsibility to strengthen our communities and know Starbucks impact in communities is most meaningful when our efforts begin with our partners (employees) who know their neighbors best. Nowhere is that truer than our hometown of Seattle – where we’ve worked side by side with our neighbors and partners (employees) since the beginning.

Hometown Partnerships
We are committed to the resiliency of Seattle. We partner with like-minded organizations that help communities engage through social services, civic engagement and community service opportunities. We will forever be all in for our hometown

Through a longtime partnership with STG, Starbucks helps to create opportunities for young people to grow their artistic talents.

Starbucks is proud to partner with our closest neighbors in SODO to create a more healthy and vibrant Hometown by addressing two core challenges – housing access and food security.

Starbucks is proud to be a community impact partner of the Seattle Kraken. Together with the One Roof Foundation, we celebrate local community members through the Kraken Unity Fund. Through this program, together with the Kraken Ownership group, each season $1.2M is donated to local nonprofits benefiting our community.

This hometown partnership illustrates both organizations’ commitment to Seattle by focusing on two areas of significance: access to housing through a Rebounds for Housing program and community basketball clinics created for youth in underserved communities throughout the city.

Starbucks is proud to be a community partner with the Seattle Seahawks, supporting local non-profits through their Spirit of 12 program. We’ve invited our customers – and fellow 12s – to show their Blue Pride along with us. Go, Hawks!

Starbucks and Seattle Sounders FC have teamed up to support the annual Pride Match and uplift the LGBTQIA+ community. Scarves up, Seattle!

From community service, to Husky Stadium, to finals week, Starbucks is honored to partner with the University of Washington. Go Dawgs!
