Starbucks Pumpkin Spice Latte around the world
PSL is now available around the world.
In the 20 years since Starbucks® Pumpkin Spice Latte (PSL) first launched in the United States and Canada, PSL has made its way into the hearts of customers around the world. PSL is now available around the world, and while the flavor combination of pumpkin, cinnamon, nutmeg and clove might not have been popular in many parts of the world before PSL, it has since become a beloved beverage that customers look forward to each year.
Japan
In 1996 Japan was the first market Starbucks opened in outside North America – and it was also the first outside the United States and Canada to add PSL to the menu in 2006. Although the beverage took a hiatus after the first year, PSL has become a fall staple in Japan since its return in 2021, where customers enjoy pairing the beverage with a Pumpkin Scone.
Europe, Middle East & Africa
Since first arriving to this region in 2012, the PSL remains one of the most beloved Starbucks beverages in markets throughout Europe, the Middle East and Africa. A Starbucks barista in Poland said, “Customers and partners can’t wait for PSL to return each year. As early as July, customers begin asking when PSL will be back.”
This year, Starbucks stores in the Middle East and North Africa will also welcome the Pumpkin Cream Doubleshot™ Iced Shaken Espresso to the fall menu, featuring pumpkin spice syrup, cream and espresso shots shaken with ice, before being finished with silky pumpkin cream flavor cold foam and pumpkin drizzle.
Asia Pacific
In Starbucks Asia Pacific, PSL is available in 12 of 15 markets, including Philippines, Indonesia, and India. In addition to Pumpkin Spice Latte, Pumpkin Spice Frappuccino® blended beverage, and Pumpkin Cream Cold Brew the Asia Pacific region is also offering the delicious Salted Caramel Oatmilk Iced Shaken Espresso.
Latin America & the Caribbean
Pumpkin Spice Latte first arrived in Latin America and the Caribbean in 2011. And while PSL is thought of as a traditional fall flavor, it has become a springtime favorite in the Southern Hemisphere in markets like Brazil, which has offered PSL since 2019. In Mexico, where they are celebrating their 10th anniversary of PSL, they like to pair any hot, iced, or blended PSL with Pumpkin Cake.
“Customers and partners wait all year long for PSL. It marks the start of a new season for everyone, a time of outdoors and friends. People enjoy different flavors and switch their everyday drink for a PSL,” said Starbucks partner Maria from Mexico.
