We’ve rounded up six must-see Starbucks stores in cities around the world, so you can enjoy the views while sipping your favorite spring beverage.
Ahhh, finally. After a long winter, the exuberant pink blooms of cherry trees tell us that spring is here to say hello. We’ve rounded up six must-see Starbucks stores in cities around the world, so you can enjoy the views while sipping your favorite spring beverage.
1. Starbucks Reserve Roastery Tokyo
The springtime celebration of cherry blossoms, called sakura, has been an annual tradition in Japan for centuries, a time of optimism and renewal. What better place to begin our tour than at the Starbucks Reserve® Roastery Tokyo, where cherry blossoms are in bloom year round, with handcrafted copper blooms adorning the 55-foot cask where coffee beans rest and de-gas after roasting. And during cherry blossom season, you can enjoy a Sakura Macchiato and an assortment of sakura-themed food and beverages throughout its four floors, or on one of the outdoor decks overlooking Nakameguro’s spectacular cherry trees along the river below.
2. Starbucks Reserve store: The Bank, Amsterdam
Although Amsterdam may be famous for its tulips (it is the national flower of the Netherlands, after all), springtime also brings spectacular cherry blossoms that dot the city’s parks and canals. While you’re there, stop in at The Bank, located in the vault of the historic Amsterdamsche Bank. This store offers customers a new experience for coffee, design and food innovation, with a coffee theatre, stages for local bands or poetry readings, in-store baking and testing of rare and exclusive Starbucks Reserve® coffees – perfect for those looking to warm up after taking photos of the many cherry blossoms throughout the city.
3. Suzzallo Library Starbucks store, University of Washington, Seattle
Just steps away from the glorious cherry blossom trees that turn the University of Washington’s Quad pink every spring, visit the Starbucks inside the historic Suzzallo Library (open weekdays). Honoring the grand, gothic and cathedral-like architecture of the building, the store features a 40-foot sculpture inspired by the ornate detailing on the building’s façade and honors the original doors and stained-glass windows.
4. Boulevard des Capucines Starbucks store, Paris
The walkways of Trocadéro come alive with cherry blossoms this time of the year, making it the perfect spot for a selfie at the Eiffel Tower. After you’ve caught the perfect picture, head to the Boulevard des Capucines Starbucks store, which was refurbished to restore the 17th century building’s historic features. The grand space features elegant chandeliers, intricate ceiling murals, and furniture designed to ensure the authenticity of the space.
5. Capitol Hill Starbucks store, Washington, D.C.
Before you stroll around the Jefferson Memorial’s Tidal Basin to admire the thousands of cherry trees in bloom, fuel up at the Capitol Hill Starbucks store, just blocks from the U.S. Capitol Building at 237 Pennsylvania Avenue. The space draws upon the rich commercial and political history of the area, featuring locally sourced materials as well as reused and recycled elements, including exposed brick found in row houses throughout the neighborhood.
6. New Taipei City Starbucks store, Taiwan
For customers in Taiwan, you can spot beautiful cherry blossoms springing with color on almost every street corner. The “Linkou Wenhua 3rd Starbucks store” located in downtown Linkou, New Taipei City has incredible views of one of Asia’s most popular blossoms. Visiting Taiwan during cherry blossom season is a great way to enjoy this popular photo destination spot. The cherry trees outside the Starbucks store are typically in full bloom in February through March.
