You can help share the story of African Americans in post-slavery America by engaging in a virtual volunteer project.
Participate in the museum’s Freedmen’s Bureau Transcription Project from home. With over 1.5 million pages of original documents to transcribe, this is the largest crowdsourcing initiative ever sponsored by the museum – and you can help understand our nation’s history, connect people with their pasts and inform future generations.
