Seattle, October 23, 2013
As long-time supporters of the Seattle community, Starbucks and the Seattle Seahawks are coming together to help build safer, stronger and healthier neighborhoods. Starting October 23 through October 29, customers and fans can visit any Starbucks store across western Washington to make a donation to A Better Seattle, an initiative founded by Seahawks Coach Pete Carroll in partnership with the YMCA’s Alive & Free program to help provide at-risk youth with the right support systems, life skills, and resources to help them become active and engaged members of their communities. Donations will fund the ongoing efforts of street outreach workers in six cities in Seattle and South King County, including Renton, Kent, Tukwila, Auburn and SeaTac.

To kick-off this week-long campaign, the Starbucks Foundation is making a $50,000 grant to A Better Seattle. In addition, on October 23, Coach Carroll and a group of Seahawks players will serve as “guest baristas” in select Starbucks stores in the Seattle area.
With a shared commitment to building healthy communities and creating new opportunities for our youth, Starbucks is proud to partner with Coach Carroll and the Seahawks to help ensure their vision for A Better Seattle is realized.
