Across the country, millions of Starbucks Rewards loyalty program members earn Stars simply by purchasing eligible items in participating Starbucks stores. In addition to earning Stars towards free drinks, food and more, there are many other benefits to joining Starbucks Rewards.
- Get Your Favorites for Free: All new Starbucks Rewards members can begin earning Stars towards free Rewards – like drinks, food and even merchandise – from the day they join, bringing instant value to their membership.
- Order Ahead: Members can save time by using the order ahead and pay feature in the Starbucks app to place their order before arriving at the store.
- Many Ways to Earn Rewards: Choose when and how to redeem your Stars for free drinks, food, at-home coffee or select merchandise. Rewards can be redeemed at participating stores as follows:
- 25 Stars: Customize your drink (make your drink just right with an espresso shot, nondairy milk substitute or a dash of your favorite syrup)
- 50 Stars: Brewed hot coffee, bakery item or hot tea
- 150 Stars: Handcrafted drink, hot breakfast or parfait
- 200 Stars: Lunch sandwich or protein box
- 400 Stars: Select merchandise or at-home coffee
- Reduce, Reuse and Reward: Beginning on April 22, 2022, members who bring a clean, personal reusable cup when ordering in a participating cafe will receive 25 Stars on their order in addition to 10 cents off their drink. Those 25 Stars can be redeemed for a free customization like an extra shot of espresso or dash of your favorite syrup!
- Birthday Bonus: Members get a Birthday Reward to redeem for a free beverage or food item on their birthday.
- More Ways to Pay and Earn Stars: Starbucks Rewards members have many ways to pay and earn Stars. At participating stores in the U.S., members can pay by registering a gift card or preloading a Starbucks Card in the Starbucks app and earn 2 Stars per dollar. Members can also scan their Starbucks app and pay with cash, credit/debit card or select mobile wallets and earn 1 Star per dollar.
- Get to Free Faster: Earn Stars even quicker with Bonus Star challenges, Double Star Days, personalized offers, games and more, delivered to your email and in the Starbucks app!
- Free Refills: Take advantage of free refills of brewed coffee or tea (hot or iced) during the same visit when you sit in the café. (Extra tip: Refill your cup with coffee or tea, even if your first drink was something else)

Select stores redeem 150 Stars for food or drink items only. To qualify for the Birthday Reward, you must have made at least one Star-earning transaction prior to your birthday each year. Free refills available during same visit only. Stars (including partial Stars) earned toward free food and drink Rewards expire 6 months after they are earned. To qualify for the reusable cup benefit, you must have made at least one Star earning transaction. Valid on in-store beverage purchases only (max 3x per day).
