SEATTLE (Sept. 27, 2017) – Starbucks (NASDAQ: SBUX) today announced the release date for Season 2 of Upstanders, an original series about real people making a difference in their communities. The series will feature written, video and audio stories of ordinary people from across America showing extraordinary courage. On October 10, 2017, in an unprecedented partnership, the series will be available online at www.Starbucks.com/Upstanders and on Amazon Prime Video through the Amazon Video Direct self-publishing service. Each story in the series will be written and produced by Howard Schultz, Starbucks executive chairman, and Rajiv Chandrasekaran, Starbucks executive producer and a former senior editor of The Washington Post. In addition to being available free online at Starbucks.com/Upstanders, all 11 episodes, including an exclusive full-length documentary of the series, will also be available to millions of Amazon Prime members. Further, actor Michael B. Jordan will narrate Upstanders as an exclusive audiobook, which will be free to listen to on Audible at www.audible.com/Upstanders. “The Upstanders series is all about telling stories of ordinary people who demonstrate extraordinary courage. Rajiv and I hope this series will inspire everyday citizens to give something of themselves in service to others,” said Schultz. “Spreading that message has never been more important than it is today, and we are pleased to be working with content leaders like Amazon and Audible to amplify this powerful movement even further.”
“So much of what makes a great story is in what you hear,” said Audible Chief Content Officer Andy Gaies. “Michael B. Jordan’s beautiful narration brings these inspiring stories to life in an extremely intimate and approachable way. We are delighted that our millions of listeners can now keep the Upstanders series with them wherever they go, and no matter what they are doing.
