Tressie Lieberman is Starbucks executive vice president and global chief brand officer. She leads the company’s global brand strategy, overseeing Marketing, Creative, Product, Digital, and Data Analytics and Insights.
Prior to joining Starbucks in November 2024, Tressie was Chief Marketing Officer for Yahoo, where she was responsible for global consumer and B2B marketing across its portfolio of brands. Through Tressie’s leadership, Yahoo tapped into its heritage to reinvigorate its brand identity as a modern, relevant and growing business.
Tressie also held leadership positions at Chipotle, Snap Kitchen and Taco Bell. At Chipotle, she served as Vice President of Digital Marketing and Off-Premise where she was responsible for launching and growing Chipotle Rewards, driving delivery growth, increasing digital ordering awareness and becoming a leader in community engagement to ignite growth with Gen Z. During her time, Chipotle established an industry-leading digital business and was named to Time100’s Most Influential Companies in 2023 for its social media savvy. At Snap Kitchen, she served as Chief Marketing Officer, leading retail partnerships and overseeing a full brand and menu redesign. During her Taco Bell tenure, Tressie created an incubator that focused on rapid prototyping and delivery growth, and she launched the first Taco Bell e-commerce platform. She also designed and drove the social media and influencer strategy that positioned the brand to win in youth culture.
Tressie has a strong track record in building brands, developing compelling products, creating incredible consumer experiences, launching breakthrough marketing and building winning teams. She has achieved accolades such as being named as one of Business Insider’s Top Influencer Marketers, Nation’s Restaurant News Power List and Advertising Age Women to Watch.
She holds a B.S. in advertising from the University of Texas at Austin. Tressie is new to Seattle and can’t wait to explore the city and continue her passion for travel and food with her family. Tressie also gets great joy through mentorship and guest lectures with business students. While it’s hard to choose, her favorite Starbucks beverage is a Matcha Latte with oatmilk.
