Mark Ring is senior vice president, leading licensed stores in the United States, Starbucks Canada, and Siren Retail, which includes U.S. Starbucks Reserve and Roastery locations. Mark is passionate about leading by example and sharing his experiences with Starbucks partners. He is committed to supporting Starbucks Mission and Values across the North America region and to those he meets every day. Mark has held key leadership roles across the U.S. and international markets over his nearly three decades with Starbucks.
Mark first joined the company in 1995 as project manager, Finance and Planning. His early Starbucks experience also included managing retail systems for North America operations, driving cross-business priorities with Starbucks Japan and serving as regional director of operations for the Pacific Northwest region in the United States, including Starbucks first store in Seattle’s Pike Place market.
In 2007, Mark and his family relocated to Australia where he served as vice president and managing director of the market and two years later moved to London where he served as vice president, Operations for Starbucks business in the U.K. and Ireland.
In 2012, Mark became U.S. regional vice president for licensed stores, based in Seattle, and worked in a variety of U.S.-based operations roles, including interim regional vice president of operations for the New York Metro market. Two years later, Mark moved again with his family to Hong Kong to serve as senior vice president and general manager of Starbucks Asia Pacific region. In this role, Mark was responsible for growth and expansion across 14 Asian markets and innovation focused on coffee engagement and sustainability. He most recently served as senior vice president for licensed stores in the United States and Latin America from 2018-2022.
Prior to Starbucks, Mark worked for Dow Corning Corporation in a variety of finance roles. He holds a bachelor’s degree in accounting from Indiana University Bloomington, and an MBA in International Management from the Thunderbird School of Global Management at Arizona State University. He also attended the General Management Program at Harvard Business School.
